Full-Day Kindergarten
Carlsbad Unified has expanded the Full-Day Kindergarten Pilot to 5 other schools in addition to Jefferson and Hope Elementary Schools in the 2026-27 school year. All kindergarten classes at the pilot schools will follow the extended-day schedule.

Transitional Kindergarten
What is Transitional Kindergarten?
Transitional Kindergarten is a public school program for age-eligible students. It is the first year of a two-year kindergarten program. In 2026-2027, students turning 4 by September 1, 2026 will be eligible to attend TK.
